Tracey Richardson: Going the Distance

This is an easy read book that tells of a Mum's (my friends) battle to cope with the daily struggles of having two neat kids with cystic fibrosis. Her life before kids was not exactly a cake walk but nothing could prepare her for what was in store. The dramas to just get on with life- things we do not even consider for one moment, this lady had to deal with on a sometimes life or death basis. Sheer guts and bloody mindedness saw her morph from sloth to athlete extraordinaire and her battle to complete one of the toughest events on the planet- The Iron Man in Hawaii. If you lack the motivation to get yourself up and moving, this is a must read. For those already there, read this and you will try harder.
Nearly ten years on since its original publish, I will haul the hard copy out of the book case and have a re-read- happy knowing those little kids are now great young adults and Tracey successful in her latest venture

This is a story written from the heart of the author and demonstrates her ability to overcome adversity and use her determination in a challenge as an inspiration to her two cystic fibrosis children. Very easy reading.
